Weddings

You are welcome to enquire about getting married in either of the two Churches in the parish if you live within the parish (i.e. Rhos, Alltwen, Gellinudd, Cilybebyll or Fforest Goch). If a previous marriage has ended in divorce, this is not necessarily a barrier to be married in Church.

To enquire about a wedding , please ring the Rector's telephone: 01792 862118

Preparing for Marriage.

The points below might be helpful to discuss together as you prepare for marriage. They are 7 points that can be the foundation for a long and happy marriage.

Do I want to share every part of my life, for the rest of our lives, with this person? Am I ready to share my time and all my money?
Does our love give me energy and strength or does it drain me? A healthy relationship gives us more energy. A poor marriage drains us and makes us feel trapped.
Do I really respect this person? Do I respect their judgement and character?
Do I accept my partner as they are? Do not get married planning to change that person, can you live with them as they are?
Can we admit our mistakes to each other; apologise and forgive?
Do we have interests in common upon which to base our friendship?
Have we been through various situations together and seen each other as we really are? Have we seen each other in difficult times as well as good?

An excellent book to read is “the marriage book, how to build a lasting relationship” by Nicky and Sila Lee (ISBN 1-902750-26-8) W.H. Smiths or any good book shop will order it for you.

Please feel free to contact the Rector if you ever wish to discuss any aspect of your marriage confidentially,
